Iker healing from injury dreams with getting championship this year

Iker Casillas says his recovery from the broken bone in his hand is going a lot better than expected and he could possibly be right back involving the Real Madrid posts when late March.

Casillas' hand was broken by a random kick from his team-mate Alvaro Arbeloa during Madrid's Copa del Rey quarter-final sport at the Mestalla on January 23.

It absolutely was feared he'd experience 3 months on the sidelines, and the team moved quickly to sign Diego Lopez for 3.5 million from Sevilla to play in their likely season-defining games against Barcelona in the Copa and Manchester United in the Champions League.

The Madrid club leader told reporters on Thursday evening, at the beginning of a new club store at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, that the initial schedule had only been a worst-case scenario.

"I am feeling quite positive," Casillas said. "The surgeon gave me the worst-case scenario, he said it could get 3 months. But last week when the splint was removed, I was told I'd one month left. Now I am doing effective exercises to obtain freedom and power back in the finger."

Casillas said he had been spending so much time at Madrid's Valdebebas training facility to obtain right back playing when possible.

"Until now I've not had much strength in it, but I am receiving it back little by little," he explained. "We have reached the halfway point of the damage. I have still got per month to go. I will have to work more and experience more to obtain right back the flexibility of before. I am getting excited about returning. It's worse being off the message than on it."

The function was also visited by Casillas' team-mates including Arbeloa, Xabi Alonso, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria, Jose Callejon, Nacho and Kaka, though coach Jose Mourinho was absent.

Alonso told reporters that he didn't know yet whether he'd get over his groin issue in time for next Tuesday's Copa semi-final second leg at Barcelona's Camp Nou.

"I am in the recovery stage," the midfielder said. "I am trying to get better as soon as possible, to have gone the disquiet and reunite in top form. When I'll get ready plenty of people ask. I hope to be able to perform against Barca, but I don't have a solution right now."

Former Liverpool player Alonso stated that, with the link balanced at 1-1, whoever won first in the Champions League last 16 get back game at Manchester United on March 5 could be favourites to progress.

"They can have the help of their fans," he said. "It will be described as a concern. Along side it that scores first will undoubtedly be favourites. Old Trafford is a good surface and it is the kind of match we all like to play. The link is quite open."

Di Maria said that it will suit Madrid to be playing away from home in both of the future, potentially season-defining, activities.

"Things are going well and develop to carry on this way," he said. "We know that we have to have large matches in both competitions and that it will perhaps not be easy. Since we do well when things are against us maybe playing away is likely to be in our favor. We have had this week to work on the easiest way to approach the activities. I am hoping everything goes well."

Benzema, who remains question for Saturday evening's La Liga sport at Deportivo La Coruna, said he wasn't focused on his current bad form in front of goal.

"I hope than I have up to now that I score more goals, however the thing may be the team and to win the forthcoming matches," he said. "We have to interact to get. We have a fantastic group and we are all in good form."
