The first match in the 2012-13 Championship playoffs commences today with Leicester City hosting Watford with the first leg. The Hornets, maintained by Gianfranco Zola, will need to forget about their shocking day against Leeds U . s . last Saturday where they threw away a golden chance to be promoted to a Premier League. Now Watford has to do it again, this time against a good Leicester City side which might be managed by Nigel Pearson.
First leg semi-finals can be a rather testy affair, so I'm not expecting a flurry of goals ahead in. But having said that, Leicester will want to possibilities their home-field advantage when in front of their own supporters.
The winner in the semi-final, over two hind legs, will play in your Championship playoff final in Wembley later this 4 weeks. The victor of that game will likely then be promoted to your Premier League.
Watford commencing XI: Almunia (GK) (c); Doyley, Ekstrand, Cassetti; Anya, Abdi, Chalobah, Hogg, Pudil; Geijo, Vydra.
