The last month has been very exciting for UFC middleweight Chris Camozzi. Only two weeks after his conquer Nick Ring at UFC 158 in Montreal, Camozzi got the decision to move in on short notice to handle Ultimate Fighter: Brasil winner Cezar "Mutante" Ferreira at UFC on FX 8 in Brazil. Basically only days later, however, Ferreira was out due to damage and Camozzi was experiencing Renzo Gracie's scholar Rafael Natal on the card instead. With instruction time winding down and a visit to Brazil just nearby, his workout was left by Camozzi Thursday evening feeling great, and then, he discovered he'd a few missed calls awaiting him on his cell phone. "I was in the gym yesterday evening when I was done education and I went along to my locker to get changed and I'd five missed calls from my boss Jason (Genet) and I'd a couple of from Jordan, another guy on my management staff so I knew something was up," Camozzi told Bleacher Report.A "So when I talked to Jason he said would you like the good news or the bad news first?A So I said give me the bad newsa'and he said properly your fight's off." "I was annoyed at first but I think he wanted to set me up only a little bit.A So I decided the good news was probably they were going to pay me or anything when planning on taking every one of these fights.A He was just like the good news is you are fighting in the co-main event against (Ronaldo) "Jacare" (Souza ).A Right from there I was motivated, it took two seconds to state yes." Souza was set to participate in the co-main event on the card against other top-10 fighter Costa Philippou, but that's when Camozzi got the call and he was forced by a late injury out of the attack. With four wins in a line, Camozzi has been itching to check himself against the top practitioners in the middleweight division, but he just hasn't arrived those matchupsa'until today. "It is some thing I've been asking for with each gain, asking to fight someone in the top ten and prove in there," Camozzi said.A "I am significantly more than pleased to get the opportunity." that I belong On as a favorite report, Souza will enter the battle at UFC on FX 8. Souza is a Strikeforce middleweight champion and is famous throughout the MMA industry together of the most devastating grapplers in the sport.A While this battle will soon be his UFC introduction, Souza has significantly more than confirmed herself already and could jump right in the thick of the name search in just a couple of battles. Therefore it is not surprising that Camozzi recognizes that the entire world wants this fight to be lost by him. "As much as I'm concerned I have everything to gain and nothing to lose," Camozzi commented.AA "Nobody needs me to win this battle and that is the way in which I prefer it.A I love being the underdog.A I always grab wins when I am the underdog and people are against me.A So I always execute better under that kind of pressure.A With a I gain everything.A There's nothing more threatening than fighting someone with nothing to lose." Facing a like Souza on short notice is a daunting task but one Camozzi acknowledged with eyes wide open.A He knew the time the name was heard by him just what kind of credentials the Brazilian brings to the dining table, especially when the fight strikes the ground. Camozzi is supremely confident after get yourself ready for the past weeks to face a ground fighter in Natal that a switch to Souza will not throw a huge monkey wrench in to his game plan. "The way I look at it, Jacare's a bigger, tougher, better Rafael Natal," Camozzi said.A "I was training to not just hang with Natal, but to dismantle him.A So I've been training for a, better Natal anyway so it kind of falls into my training.A The game plan doesn't change too much." The expectations starting UFC on FX 8 are that Souza will reign supreme and present himself to a new audience of fans clamoring for top middleweight challengers to eventually face the king of the section Anderson Silva. Camozzi is very happy to disappoint everybody and take Souza's first win away from him while positioning herself for an area on the list of best of the best at 185 pounds.
