New England Patriots: An in-Depth Search at New Patriots WR Aaron Dobson

With their draft selection of Marshall vast device Aaron Dobson, the Newest England Patriots could have eventually found the missing piece for their unpleasant attack: a huge outside threat. Dobson has all of the physical traits you search for within an "X" receiver: Howevera'as I am certain Taylor Price or Chad Ochocinco could tell youa'physical power is not enough to reach your goals in New England's advanced bad program. Receivers need certainly to know the playbook inside and out and have the capability to read defenses on the fly. Patriots devices must have football intelligence. According to Bill Belichick, the former Marshall star's baseball IQ really stood out (per Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald). You talk to him about what he did (on a particular play) and he may explain the methods, the responsibilities, what other people were doing at Marshall. Heas a fairly smart guy...he had an excellent knowledge and understanding of learning, taking new information and processing that and being able to realize that and apply it. Between his real abilities and his cerebral comprehension of the game, Dobson has a chance to make a real effect as a novice for the Patriots. Here's a closer look at what he brings to the offense. Another Reputation Dobson does the majority of his work outside the numbers and could make large plays down the sideline, and that's exactly what he did against Florida International in the 2011 Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl. Dobson finds himself in man-to-man on the exterior and runs a "go" route down the sideline. Although the protection is rather tight, Dobson maintains good position on the opponent down the area. As he makes a silly one-handed capture that results in a touchdown using his size, Dobson exhibits remarkable hand-eye coordination here. With the interest Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez and Danny Amendola may draw to the midst of the subject, Dobson's outside presence could be a key factor. A Crafty Route-Runner In this show, Dobson runs a great deep return. The "go" route is really sold by him here as his opponent continues downfield and Dobson comes home to the ball. Dobson is big and can get downfield, but his great footwork is also used by him to produce separation. A Big-Play Threat In this cut against West Virginia, Dobson gets deeply on play action after selling a run stop. Dobson works toward the midst of the field as though to activate the opponent (who is thinking function) and then turns on the jets down the field while doing his most readily useful Randy Moss impact. He gets behind the safeties with ease and reels in the football for a lengthy reception. Despite his outstanding 40-yard dash time (4.43, per CBSSports.com), Dobson is not referred to as a, but his pace is deceptive, as this show demonstrates. He does not look like he's going fast, but he's. Given the possible lack of outside-receiver competition that he can experience, Dobson is probably planning to have to be able to begin straight away in 2013. The Patriots don't have the best history as it pertains to composing vast receivers, but given his advanced of extensive and ability basketball knowledge, Dobson might change that development in 2013.
