Swansea City 1-0 Newcastle United: We rate the players - you rate the players - WalesOnline

MICHEL VORM: Back with the gloves and wasted little time showing why as he offered both the basics and the brilliant, taking catches cleanly and saving superbly from a few long-rangers. 8

ANGEL RANGEL: Plenty of invitation to overlap and was only denied by a good Elliott save in one early second-half example - but found himself restricted a little by Toon's own threat on flanks. 7

ASHLEY WILLIAMS: Will be kicking himself that didn't make more of early, if difficult, chance but can take plenty of satisfaction from secure defending job he did where Cisse was notable by absence. 7

GARRY MONK (Capt): A few misplaced passes to go with many of his teammates and a header that he could have buried from the corner but relished chance to show strength in air as Newcastle played high and earned clean sheet. 7

BEN DAVIES: Heavily involved in first-half with some lovely forward passes but also trying to contain attacks of opposite number Debuchy, which he did well in the main. 7

LEON BRITTON: Caught up in an unlikely tussle with Cisse with the striker clearly not keen on Britton's busy attentions but couldn't get passing game going thereafter as Newcastle took initiative and made way for matchwinner Moore. 6

JONATHAN DE GUZMAN: Looked superb early on as Swansea fizzed the ball with some fantastic touches of real class, but impact not quite the same as Newcastle frustrated. Set-piece excellent. 7

PABLO HERNANDEZ: A strange afternoon for the Spaniard where some of the play was just stunning that had Newcastle clueless only for the slightest of deflections to undo good work. Nevertheless, kept going and got rewards. 7

MICHU: Never got the kind of openings he enjoyed so much at Wembley but was prepared to put in the hard yards to give side glimmer of hope which they took at end. 7

NATHAN DYER: Looked lively to start but didn't really get chance to stretch legs with Davide Santon limiting threat. On wrong end of several fouls as Toon tried to rough winger up before making way on hour. 6

WAYNE ROUTLEDGE: Some excellent touches throughout as tried to get the three-wingers in support of Michu linking as well as they did at Wembley but couldn't get into game as often as side and he would have liked. 7
