2013 Summer Transfers: Early Targets for Tottenham Hotspur - Bleacher Survey

After having a heartbreaking loss on Thursday night to a poor but motivated Hamilton Academical Basel in the Europa League quarterfinal, it must have been burdensome for Andre Villas-Boas not to think of what might have been. Without their talisman, Gareth Bale, Tottenham showed motivation, pace, determination and concluding prowess, but their failure to place away a feisty Swiss group raises questions in regards to the team's Champions League dreams. With a top-four finish teetering dangerously and the chance of losing Bale to a foreign large like Real Madrid or PSG, the following four-to-six months may establish the history Villas-Boas may leave at White Hart Lane. With a hard month ahead, it's important to think about the top shift targets for a group still yearning for a strong work in Europe's top competition next season. Christian Benteke, Aston Accommodation Bob Brunskill/Getty Images Religious Benteke has been a thought for a normally gloomy Aston Villa area. With relegation to the Championship still an extremely real possibility, Villa may check out profit on the prolific Benteke while his investment remains high. At only 22, an incredible journey have been experienced by Benteke already in his young life. After running the Mobutu regime in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Benteke ultimately settled in an undesirable area in Belgium. After hard work and dedication, Benteke ultimately made his way to Birmingham and Aston Villa. His next move would be to North London to come calmly to Bale's support. Jermain Defoe has been hurt for much of the season, Emmanuel Adebayor looks disinterested even though rating one of his unusual objectives and Clint Dempsey has offered moderately despite a performance against Basel on Thursday. Joining Spurs would also enable Benteke to link up with other Belgian internationals Jan Vertonghen and Moussa Dembele. Benteke makes sensea'especially if Villa are relegated and it will help to keep Bale in London. Isco, Malaga Mark Ramos/Getty Images Yes, Villas-Boas did make Lewis Holtby to help aAbeleaguered midfield device at the last second in January, but with Malaga in financial ruin despite an unexpected Champions League run, 20-year-old Spaniard Isco is in the marketplace. Isco is slick,AskilfulAand quick. Like Benteke, he's also young. Building around Bale, Isco,ADembele andAVertonghen would give a remarkable young core to Spurs supporters of participants to have worked up about. Isco has already earned one cover for Spain, outstanding considering who he is against, and has paced Malaga through European opposition. Born in Malaga, it's unclear whether Isco will be available to a shift to the Premier League, but his impact at White Hart Lane might be critical with Scott Parker set to show 33 in October. Jordy Clasie, Feyenoord Jasper Juinen/Getty Images Referred to as the "Dutch Xavi" in mention of the Barcelona passingAmaestro, Clasie is rumoured (per the Daily Mail) to be firmly on Villas-Boas' radar. Like Isco, Clasie has broken through on his national area, registering five limits for Holland. Clasie is known for his vision on the message and great pace. At just 5'7", he'll not gain many balls in the air, but luckily for Feyenoord he is not asked to. Clasie is one of the leading small midfields in Europe and would be a welcome addition for Spurs. Pablo Osvaldo, Roma Marco Luzzani/Getty Pictures Talksport has described a transfer for the Italian striker to London after Osvaldo was recently spotted in London along with his partner. AlthoughAperhaps perhaps not the best-known striker, Osvaldo could provide still another goalscoring threat to Tottenham. Osvaldo has made a name for herself with some eye-catching objectives this season in Rome and his work would have been a pleasant influence in Spurs' attack. With Spurs more likely to lose out (per the Daily Mirror) on Sevilla's Alvaro Negredo to Borussia Dortmund, Osvaldo might be a wonderful contingency plan. Borja Valero, Fiorentia Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images Yet another Spanish midfielder target for Spurs. While Isco may prove too costly, Tottenham are supposedly involved (per Talksport) in his countryman, Borja Valero. Significantly of a, Valero has spent time in England before with West Brom from 2008-2011, making 31 appearances. He then moved to Villareal on loan before generally making the transfer permanent. After seemingly spurning talk of a shift to Real Madrid, his boyhood team, it is thought that Spurs could possibly be alone in the battle for Valero. Thomas Ince, Blackpool Mark Thompson/Getty Photographs Long associated with Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool, it seems as if Ince may be headed to Tottenham instead (per Metro). Spurs want Ince to challenge Aaron Lennon on the wing in a try to get younger out wide. Ince has changed into a feared goalscorer for Blackpool after getting the ball in the web 24 times in only 72 looks. Tresor Mputu, Mazembe Ben Radford/Getty Pictures Finished about Mputu is that Tottenham might get him for a deal. The Democratic Republic of Congo chief is 27 and has failed to live up to the comparisons with Samuel Eto'o he drew earlier in hisAcareer. However, like Ince, Mputu was associated with Spurs during the Redknapp age and it seems there's a interest (per Sky Sports). After a positive African Cup of Nations, Mputu could well find himself at White Hart street within the summer. Begin Slideshow Props (0) What's the duplicate article? How come this article offensive?
